Project Summary (2000-2005)

This research core facilitates the use of gene transfer and transgenesis of fish in the different research projects. Core researchers provide advice on transgene construction, provide vectors and reporter genes, produce transgenic fish and screen the fish for the transgene. The core also provides instruction on handling and analyzing transgenic fish. As new transgenic lines are produced that have firefly luciferase reporter genes, the core will provide instructions on assaying the treated embryos and larvae for firefly luciferase induction by toxicants.
