Annie Nigra, Ph.D., a researcher at Columbia University, speaks about her work uncovering the ways that arsenic in drinking water affects health on the NIEHS Podcast. She explains how differences in metal exposures contribute to health disparities, and how her research informs policies that protect people from arsenic in drinking water.

Nigra also touches on the NIEHS-funded EARTH (Environmental health sciences Research for Teachers and High school students) Program that she co-leads, which teaches Native American youth how to conduct environmental health science research to address concerns about heavy metals in their communities.

To learn more, listen to her on the Partnerships for Environmental Public Health Podcast.
