Project Summary (2005-2012)

The Administrative Core, under the direction of the BU SBRP Program Director, Dr. Ozonoff, implements program goals through the following objectives:

  1. Provide mechanisms for effective administration and project support by (a) designating a Program and Grants Administrator to insure timely and consistent communication with NIEHS about program progress and status, monitor budgets and keep required financial records; (b) assigning a Program Coordinator to insure timely notice of meetings, dissemination of information, documentation of activities and decisions, coordination of schedules, and such other support services as are needed to insure smooth and efficient functioning of the program;
  2. Promote coordination of interdisciplinary research and stimulate collaborations among projects and cores by (a) utilizing the External Advisory Committee to advise the BU SBRP Program Director and investigators on the direction and implications of the program research portfolio, Community Outreach, and Research Translation from the perspective of expert non-participants in the projects (the former Community Advisory Committee is now part of the overall EAC); (b) convening the PI Committee for governing and integrating activities within the program, and using appropriate technologies to facilitate communication on a daily or weekly basis; (c) disseminate information to PIs to promote cross-disciplinary collaboration
  3. Maximize practical application of research findings by working with the Research Translation Core to arrange for the practical and logistical aspects of sharing reagents, organisms and software tools, described in detail in that Core.
