Project Summary (1995-2000)

In this project, experiments are being performed to examine the effect of residual non-aqueous phase liquids (NAPL) on bacterial transport. Since many polluted aquifers contain NAPL as well as other contamination, understanding of the transport of bacteria in such sites will aid in their bioremediation. Likewise, additional experiments examining bacterial transport in the unsaturated zone will be performed because many NAPL contaminated sites include unsaturated as well as saturated zones.
