Project Summary (1995-2000)

This core is composed of two components: a Geographic Information System (GIS) Spatial Analysis Component, and a Biostatistical Design and Analysis Component. The GIS supports the coordination and linkage of study design and outcome analysis for 2 independent biomedical research projects (Projects 5 and 6) with related hydrologic and ecological components in a specific ecological system (the Upper Arkansas River Basin, Colorado). The statistics component supports integration of biostatistical methods in both study design and analysis of data for 3 research projects (Projects 2, 5 and 8), and for the analytical component of Core B. Integration of the two components in Core C are used in research and development of new statistical and exposure assessment methods in the study of health effects associated with exposure to hazardous substances.
