Project Summary (1995-2000)

This Core facility essentially consists of two laboratories, one approved by the EPA for the analysis of environmental toxicants and the other an FDA approved laboratory with expertise in analysis of biological samples for drugs and toxins and pharmacokinetic studies. These laboratories develop and validate analytical methods, provide support for the routine extraction and quantitative analysis for chlorinated hydrocarbons in biological and environmental samples, perform pharmacokinetic studies, and maintain QA/QC procedures as outlined by the EPA and FDA. The combined laboratory acts as an interface between the environmental and health sciences and offers a unique training opportunity for graduate students.
