Project Summary (1995-2000)

The goal of this core is to collect epidemiologic data from a variety of sources. These data, once collected, are entered into computers and a data base is constructed with quality control procedures to monitor accuracy and completeness of that undertaking. Once the data base has been established, the investigators perform exploratory analysis of the data to examine variables univariately before considering multivariate relationships. Data clean-up operations are carried out. After the data has been explored, the statistical modeling of relationships among multivariables will be accomplished and with an assessment of goodness of fit. The data management core consists of biostatisticians and computer scientists who serve as a resource to investigators in the areas of data management and data analysis.
