Project Summary (2020-2025)

Note: As of the most recent reissue of the Superfund Hazardous Substance Research and Training Program Request for Applications (RFA-ES-18-002), research translation in these multiproject center grants is now part of the Administrative Core. The research translation efforts are now facilitated by the Administrative Core and led by the Research Translation Coordinator.

The Administrative Core is facilitating research translation through:

  • Effective communication within the Center and stakeholders, leveraging collaborations with regional Centers (e.g., the Northeast regional Superfund trainee conference and the Complex Mixtures working group);
  • Partnerships with government agencies, including a visiting scientist program with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency;
  • Technology transfer in conjunction with the Harvard Office of Technology Development and the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute; and
  • Information dissemination to broad audiences through channels including social media, newsletters, podcasts and videos.

The Administrative Core is relying on multiple communication and engagement strategies to broadly communicate the science, translate the research findings into formats directly useful to policymakers and environmental decision-making, help decision-makers interpret risk implications of the research, and ensure that research insights, technologies, and tools developed through the Center are widely applicable.
