Year:   2004

The function of the biostatistics core was to provide statistical support to the research projects.  During 2004, several projects consulted with statistician Dr. Ken Portier for advice on experimental design and data management.  Projects 2 and 3 received assistance from graduate students in biostatistics in the analysis of their data from field studies (project 2) and microarrays (project 3).  This core was important for the functioning of the program in that it provided assistance with the interpretation of data by the best methods, and assurance that experiments would be designed with the correct number of replicates to assure accurate interpretation.
