The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) has developed the Climate Change and Human Health Glossary to make climate and health knowledge more accessible by providing a consistent understanding of terms related to climate change and the human health impacts from climate change. This effort is meant to support and advance research and communication in this rapidly expanding field. The glossary comprises selected terms and their definitions, as well as context around their use in climate change science and policy where it may not otherwise be apparent. Terms are categorized around areas of usage or similar concepts. Related terms are identified to help users connect ideas or clarify concepts for more effective understanding and communication. This glossary is a dynamic resource that will be updated as new terminologies and uses arise.
