Description:
The goal of this research is to increase COVID-19 (and influenza vaccine) acceptance and uptake in vulnerable populations whose primary (and often only) health care access occurs in emergency departments. These interview guides are directed at completion of our Specific Aim I: Toward gaining insight regarding trusted messaging that will address barriers to COVID-19 and influenza vaccination, especially vaccine hesitancy, we will conduct interviews with vulnerable populations whose primary health care access occurs in emergency departments (ED Usual Source of Care patients). This study is IRB approved at four safety net emergency departments in San Francisco, Seattle, Philadelphia and Durham, NC. The patient population is adult emergency department patients who are vaccine hesitant and do not have a regular source of primary care.
