The purpose of the Texas Flood Registry is to collect health, location, and exposure information from people living in areas within the state of Texas affected by major storms. This information is used to identify health and housing impacts to support recovery efforts and planning for future storms. This survey can be administered to any adult 18 or older in a storm impact zone, whether impacted severely, lightly, or not at all. In April 2018, we launched this project with a long form survey on the health and housing impacts of Hurricane Harvey. Within weeks of the May 2019 and Tropical Storm Imelda (September 2019) flooding events, we added supplemental questions on each storm to the initial survey. Starting in April 2020, the registry now organizes individual storms or events as separate modules and allows for the easy addition of new modules and multiple surveys.
