The Administrative Core (AC) provides the structure and organization for the Dartmouth Superfund Research Program (SRP) Center to achieve its objectives to understand both the sources of low-level exposures and the effects on human health of arsenic and the fate of mercury in aquatic environments with the ultimate goal of reducing human exposure. The AC provided leadership to organize and promote collaboration across the Dartmouth Center projects and cores, provided the administrative and accounting support for each of the projects and cores, assisted cores with providing information to their stakeholders and partners, coordinated research and education opportunities for trainees, and linked the Dartmouth Center with departments at Dartmouth College and NIEHS. The AC also facilitated Administrative supplements for Internal Use Case (IUC) and External Use Case (EUC) projects in order to make Center data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR) for Dartmouth Center investigators and other collaborators. This included: 1) a centralized database of existing multi-element data from the Trace Element Analysis Core (IUC); 2) a centralized data platform to compare mercury bioavailability datasets for controlled experiments and field observations (EUC); and 3) creating a searchable data platform containing publicly available data to be used to investigate the co-occurrence of metal and organic pollutants in fish tissue. EUC supplements also supported two other projects with collaborating Superfund Centers: 1) a series of spectral databases to make them publicly available for use; and 2) harmonization of data from three birth cohorts for both organic and inorganic contaminant exposures.
