The Training Core has started to implement the activities planned to add a layer of interdisciplinary training to the regular disciplinary training of graduate students and post-doctoral fellows who are part of the Columbia University (CU) SRP. The following activities have taken place since the beginning of this funding cycle:

  • attending the CU SRP seminar series
  • establishing the online journal club, creating posts and media content for the program website and social media posts
  • participating in short-term courses
  • participating in outreach activities for the general public with the Research Translation Core and Community Engagement Core
  • attending and presenting at the NIEHS SRP meeting
  • providing feedback to improve the program
  • mentoring undergraduate researchers
