The Training Core continued its weekly Seminar Series on Fridays from 12:00 to 1:30 P.M. in the Searle Center, which is located on Duke University's west campus. Topics include a broad range of research within the field of toxicology, including both ecotoxicology and biomedical toxicology.  A day-long Symposium on a focused topic is held each semester.  Symposium topics for 2004 include:  Spring, 2004 – Obesity:  Developmental Origins and Environmental Influences, and Fall 2004 – Comparative Toxicogenomics.  These seminars and symposia include nationally and internationally renowned speakers from academia, government and industry.  Attendees have included students and faculty from Duke University and Duke University Medical Center, North Carolina State University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as professionals from various local affiliations such as NIEHS, EPA, CIIT Centers for Health Research, and the State of North Carolina Department of Toxicology.
