Final Progress Reports

Year:   2005  1999

Project investigators are studying the areas of enhanced remediation, pore-scale modeling, and continuum scale modeling. All aspects of this work relate to exposure assessment through fundamental studies to understand physicochemical processes that affect multiphase flow and transport in porous medium systems and the development of improved models to describe these complex systems. An important aspect of this work is the use of this fundamental understanding to develop improved methods of remediating source zones of contamination consisting of non-aqueous phase organic liquids, especially those denser than water.
