Summary: Authentication of 4-chloro-3-hydroxy-biphenyl by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and GC-MS. The title compound was synthesized by demethylation of 3-methoxy-4-chloro-biphenyl in the presence of BBr3. The purity (>99 ) of the compound was determined based on relative peak area by GC-MS.
