The Disaster Supplement Year 2 Meeting: Promoting Health, Safety, and Recovery Training Following Declared Disasters in 2022 will be held on September 4-5, 2024 in Wilmington, NC. The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, September 4th and end around 1:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday, September 5th.
Meeting Goals and Objectives:
- Learn about training conducted, collaborations, and more from NIEHS WTP grant recipients who received funds from the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023. These grant recipients are using funds to deliver training to populations impacted by recent disasters across the United States and its territories.
- Identify strategies needed to better address disaster preparedness and response needs for workers and communities in North Carolina and other states impacted by recent disasters.
- Network and enhance connections between NIEHS WTP grant recipients, local government, academia, Tribes, and community-based organizations in North Carolina who have a vested interest in disaster preparedness and response, especially in communities that face health, socioeconomic, and environmental burdens.
