Final Progress Reports
The primary goal of Core A: Program Coordination and Administration is to provide a centralized staff to unify the research program under the program director's guidance and facilitate the coordination of the research projects to fulfill the research goals of the grant. The core administrative staff has provided strong support to the program. In addition, it has been directly responsible for facilitating research between project investigators and in disseminating the findings of this research to the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences, other Superfund research programs, and the public at large. The core has also played a central role in scientific conference organization. Specifically, the core made all the local arrangements for a meeting in January 2005 that was co-sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and California Environmental Protection Agency. This meeting was specifically requested by the federal and state environmental protection agencies and was entitled “Representation of Dose-Response Relationships for Chemicals Associated with Non-Cancer Effects and Their Policy Implications.” The meeting took place on January 27-28, 2005 at the Jack London Waterfront Plaza Hotel in Oakland, California. The core is currently actively involved in publishing a report from this meeting and following up on the recommendations from the meeting.
