Final Progress Reports

Year:   2016  2004

Much of the work of the Administrative Core has been focused on providing feedback to Boston University Superfund Research Program (BUSRP) members regarding the renewal application, compiling metrics of success, encapsulating progress from this grant segment, and working with the research translation, community engagement, and training cores to identify new opportunities for engagement and outreach. The Director and Deputy Director have been in regular contact with program staff at NIEHS since the renewal submission in April, and have provided timely updates regarding the program. In January 2017, the Administrative Core also led the annual meeting of the BUSRP’s external advisory committee (EAC). The BUSRP was particularly grateful for the participation of new board member Professor Brenda Eskenazi (UC Berkeley), as well as one of its stakeholders, Annie Jarabek, Ph.D., Deputy Director of the EPA’s Human Health Risk Assessment Research Program. The EAC provided critical insights into how the program can successfully transition into the next segment, and made recommendations to the BU School of Public Health for the continued integration of the Program within the school. Finally, the Core contributed to several Community Engagement Core (CEC) and Research Translation Core (RTC) activities, including participation by the Director, David Sherr, Ph.D., and Administrative Manager, Jessica Ehinger, Ph.D., at the NIEHS FEST in Durham, NC, as well as co-sponsoring with the RTC the 2016 AHR Symposium at the University of Rochester, at which both Sherr and Program 4 Co-Leader Mark Hahn were invited speakers.
