Year:   2005

The Biostatistics and Data Management Core provides statistical support to project investigators. The biostatisticians work with each investigator to develop models, conduct analyses, and interpret data for manuscript preparation.

The Biostatistics Core worked with Dr. Morland on the Anglers’ Study to give advice on database management and statistical analyses. The participation of biostatisticians in the generation of graphical and tabular summary data as well as in the performance of data analyses to answer the scientific questions in the Anglers’ Study was important in providing valid conclusions from the data collected in this study. The biostatisticians routinely use the graphical tools employed on this project, and thus are able to provide investigators publication-ready output for inclusion in manuscripts.

For the coming year, the Core plans to continue its collaboration with investigators in the design of new studies as well as in the analysis of data sets from ongoing projects.
