Trainees supported by the SBRP are well integrated into the overall Toxicology program and they participate in numerous enrichment programs, courses and related activities. SBRP students participate in quarterly meetings with the EPA Science Advisory Board in Dallas. Typically, three to four students travel with at least two project investigators to meet with EPA. During the meeting, each student has an opportunity to present their research description to the EPA, and the EPA provides feedback on relevance to their current mission. Three Texas A&M SBRP students participated in the Central & Eastern European Environmental Health Conference in Prague, Czech Republic in October. Ms. Tracie Phillips (Project 2) received an award for outstanding presentation. SBRP students also participate in national meetings including the Society of Toxicology, the American Chemical Society, the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, and the Annual NIEHS SBRP meeting.
