Final Progress Reports
The Mouse Molecular Genetics Core has advanced services for the UCSD Superfund Program in 2016. The research team has improved their success with creating mice using the CRISPR directed mutagenesis system. This method allows direct mutation of genes in the mouse genome, the creation of internal deletions, and insertion of tags or other small sequences. This frequently utilized service is more efficient and flexible. Furthermore, many of the mouse models created for our Superfund investigators are being utilized widely throughout the national Superfund program for studies of toxicology and biomedical problems pertaining to Superfund chemicals.
