Duke University’s Superfund Center Administrative Core continues to provide programmatic, fiscal, and administrative leadership, guidance, oversight and support for the Center’s Investigators, Trainees, and staff. The Core acts as a central hub to foster cohesion among its interdisciplinary research project and cores. The Core guides Center PI’s through the annual funding cycle timeline to insure compliance with Federal regulations and works in tandem with the Training Core and Research Translation Core to provide continuous training opportunities as well as communications support. 2016 was a competing year for the Center, in conjunction with managing the Center’s research portfolio, significant effort was dedicated toward reporting and proposal preparation.

The Administrative Core coordinates activities relevant to the broader Duke SRC community such as participation in EHS Fest which was held in Durham in December, 2016. The Center’s trainees were actively involved in the event and presented six posters. Investigators and staff also presented posters and talks and helped to coordinate panels and meetings. In tandem with the Training Core, the Administrative Core serves as the point of contact for the ITEHP Seminar and Symposium series which is co-sponsored by Duke’s SRC. In September, 2016 a number of past SRP trainees were invited back to campus to participate in the ITEHP Career Symposium and allied events.

The Administrative Core, in conjunction with the RTC, also serves the Center in ensuring NIH public access compliance as well as maintaining CareerTrac and the SRP Data Tool.
