Course Title: Industrial Emergency Response - Technician Level
Type of Course: Emerg. Resp./HazMat Tech.
Description: This program prepares responders to approach a hazardous material event for the purpose of stopping or preventing further release. This role requires skills in recognizing hazards, using protective equipment to limit exposure and effective communication within a command system. During this training, participants will practice the skills needed to safely approach and stop a release and participate in termination. Skills are documented with checklists.
Training Provider: Midwest Consortium
Instructor Qualifications: Facilitators documented to be qualified based on relevant work experience, education and expertise in adult education provide instruction. The number of facilitators is determined by the number of participants and the level of personal protective equipment used in the program, consistent with NIEHS guidelines. Annual review of instructional competence is required.
