Project Summary (2020-2025)
Note: As of the most recent reissue of the Superfund Hazardous Substance Research and Training Program Request for Applications (RFA-ES-18-002), research translation in these multiproject center grants is now part of the Administrative Core. The research translation efforts are now facilitated by the Administrative Core and led by the Research Translation Coordinator.
A main objective of the Administrative Core is the translation of research to stakeholders. This objective serves the overall interests of the Center, Puerto Rico Testsite for Exploring Contamination Threats (PROTECT), and NIEHS by translating and disseminating research results from the Center’s projects to scientific communities, governmental agencies, industry, and other stakeholders. This objective is led by the Research Translation Coordinator, building on the previous successes within the former Research Translation Core.
To achieve these objectives, the Administrative Core promotes Center activities and research results to all relevant stakeholders in scientific communities, including other SRP centers; government, particularly the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, U.S. Geological Survey, state and Puerto Rican health and environmental agencies; and industry and other stakeholders. The team also works with projects to develop investigator-initiated research translation for each project, including training on research translation and technology transfer.
