Organism(s): Mus musculus

Summary: A population-based approach was used to test the hypothesis that trichloroethylene (TCE) induced toxicity is associated with the formation of oxidative TCE metabolites. Liver, kidney and serum samples were tested. Major metabolizing enzymes responsible for oxidative biotransformation of TCE, as well as markers of liver and kidney cell proliferation and kidney damage were examined.
