Summary: Project 5 trainee Jessica Ewald and Dr. Andres Martinez, Dr. Keri Hornbuckle, and former trainee Andrew Awad from Project 4 released a dataset from sediments in a PCB-contaminated wastewater lagoon in Altavista, Virginia. It reports the results of individual polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) congeners in the surficial freshwater sediment from the wastewater lagoon located in Virginia (USA). PCB congeners were measured using tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS) in multiple reaction monitoring mode (MRM), a method that provides a high-level selectivity and sensitivity for PCBs in complex environmental samples.
